Are you looking for a new challenge in an amazing environment? Te Whatu Ora - Hawke’s Bay has a very rare permanent position for a new Team Leader of our Play Specialist team.
This role is suited to a self-motivated, experienced ECE Teacher with leadership experience. Preferably with health sector experience and knowledge. This is a permanent role, 60 hours per fortnight.
Piki Te Ora is a hospital-based service that provides care and education for children. A variety of support is provided for children and their families to manage their hospitalisation. This support includes therapeutic play and preparation and support for potentially stressful experiences. Piki Te Ora has a licensed play room and garden based on the paediatric ward. Play specialists can also engage with children at their bedside, playroom or elsewhere within the hospital.
The successful applicant will possess the following competencies:
Bachelor degree in Teaching (ECE)/Diploma in Teaching (ECE)
Current practising certificate and registration with the Teachers Council of NZ
HPS registration (or committed to becoming registered)
A high level of initiative and adaptability
Strong leadership skills, a team player who can work with the diverse qualities of the team.
Confident in MOE legislation and Methodology requirements
Ability to manage the Piki Te Ora budget and complete funding documentation.
IT skills, able to manage all computer requirements.
